My research lies at the intersection of linguistics and the philosophy of language. I wrote my PhD on the semantics and pragmatics of metalinguistic discourse and have published papers and book chapters on the metalinguistic lexicon, quotation and reference, semantic deference, metalinguistic anaphora, the connections between quotation and gestural communication. I have also edited collective volumes or journal issues on Hybrid Quotations (2005), Commitment in Linguistics (2008), Utterance Interpretation and Cognitive Models (2009) and Semantic Relativism (2010 online). I held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institut Jean Nicod from 2003 to 2005, and I currently teach English linguistics at the Université Paris 4 - Sorbonne. Before that, I taught at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where I got my BA in English and Dutch Philology and my PhD in Linguistics.
