Philmaster EHESS (philosophie et sciences sociales)et Master Philosophie Paris 12
Relying on some new trends in contemporary epistemology (reliabilism, virtue epistemology), the aim of the seminar will be to: 1) analyze the modes of epistemic justification and entitlement when knowledge is viewed as inquiry; 2) present the methods of inquiry and justification of beliefs that are applied by thinkers taken as agents, while satisfying some evidentialist requirements; 3) clarify the status of epistemic norms viewed as constitutive principles and aims of inquiry; 4) specify the links between epistemic and mental norms (by highlighting the role of some metacognitive dispositions); 5) test whether our normative claims on knowledge are compatible with a naturalistic and empiricist conception of the mind and the world. |
